Client Profile: Malaysian event organizer delivering recurring live music and entertainment programs across multiple venues.
Engagement Driver: Increasing regulatory and stakeholder pressure to demonstrate a credible pathway to net-zero-aligned events, with practical measures that do not compromise audience experience or commercial performance.
How the Opportunity Was Captured
The engagement originated from a pipeline lead identified by EcoVision’s partner during overseas travel. Following an initial diagnostic call, EcoVision proposed a structured, end-to-end sustainability program.
EcoVision Scope of Services
1. Baseline and Emissions Hotspot Assessment
EcoVision mapped event boundaries and compiled a baseline footprint across key sources: venue energy, temporary power generation, artist/crew travel, audience travel, freight and logistics, catering, materials/merchandise, and waste.
2. Net-Zero Event Strategy and Governance
We developed a phased roadmap aligned with recognized global guidance for event sustainability, including governance roles, supplier requirements, and an annual planning cycle with measurable targets and KPIs.
3. Green Technology Proposal (Implementation-Ready)
EcoVision provided an all-round proposal featuring current solutions suited to event operations, such as:
* Hybrid power design (grid-first, battery energy storage, smart load management) to reduce diesel generator reliance
* Energy-efficient staging and LED production packages
* Digital ticketing and low-impact communications
* Waste segregation stations, reusable cup systems, and vendor packaging standards
* Low-carbon transport plan (public transit partnerships, shuttle routing, EV options)
1. Global Best Practice Referencing
To increase credibility, EcoVision benchmarked recommended measures against leading international practice, including learnings commonly applied at large-scale UK music events (e.g., audience travel reduction, supplier standards, and waste reduction models), adapted to Malaysian regulatory and infrastructure realities.
2. Tender-Grade Deliverables
Deliverables included a net-zero transition proposal, implementation plan, budget ranges, risk register, supplier clauses, and a measurement-and-reporting framework suitable for regulator, sponsor, and venue-owner requirements.
Outcome
The client received a credible, practical pathway for net-zero-aligned events, supported by measurable KPIs, current technologies, and globally informed best practice—positioning the organizer for compliance readiness, sponsor confidence, and improved ESG performance.
